           A Playful Pantoum

Walking hand in hand
Kick a pebble in the sand
Leaving footprints on the beach
A hungry tide to reach

Kick a pebble in the sand
Dig a bubble for a clam
A hungry tide to reach
Circling gull's incessant screech

Dig a bubble for a clam
Push a shovel in the sand
Circling gull's incessant screech
Throw a pebble in the sea

Push a shovel in the sand
Watch the handle land
Throw a pebble in the sea
Happy, you and me

Watch the handle land
Be a happy friend
Happy, you and me
Dancing joyfully

Be a happy friend
Walking hand in hand
Dancing joyfully
Leaving footprints in the sand

Walking hand in hand
Kick a pebble in the sand
Leaving footprints on the beach
A hungry tide to reach

Throw a pebble in the sea
One for you, one for me
Wave to passing boats
Against the wind, button your coats

Sing softly as tide comes in
Day becomes night again
Walking hand in hand
Kick a pebble in the sand

Together, sand in the sea
Dancing joyfully

Special moments, events, yes, and even people, are as falling leaves filtering softly through the sunlit hues of autumn and gliding gently into a passing brook.  Relished memories, filled and satisfied with time, ripple from the leaves, disturbed only by an occasional minnow.  They slip slowly by and presently pass out of sight, leaving me with smiles and sweet poetry.
           Song of a Swan

Images tug like memories
Tied to heart strings.
Fireworks in the heavens,
The boy Orion calling.

High mountain snowflower
In a sonnet breeze.
Queen Ann's Lace
In a picture frame.

Coastline, sand dunes,
Gulls playing hop scotch,
God's magestic power
In white-capped waves.

Kayak in the creek,
Over the sand, tossed by waves
Into the ocean.
Memories of you.

The boy Orion
Living each day at last.
Each morning, a conquest,
Evening, a victory.
I know who I am and tend not to set limitations on myself.  With my spiritual life in tact, I am mentally prepared for life's ups and bumps.  I understand that life is complex and tomorrow is not a given.  I aspire to a sensitive strength and to celebrate life in general.  Above all, I am comfortable with where and who I am and thrive on honesty and trust.
Somewhere in time, I'll climb the highest mountain peaks and reach for untold dreams.  In the meantime, I'll playfully toss and throw my words high above my head.   I'll envision them floating and filtering down, landing, each letter and word in perfect harmony, and one day, perhaps, I'll write something profoundly wise or incredibly funny.  Most importantly, I am a journeyŚ an inquisitive, passionate, and imaginative journey, always a work in progress.  I smile easily for small children, animals, seasons, human nature, and natural things. I welcome comments and critiquing.
